Best Xbox Game Pass games in October 2026
Within this month’s update, several games stand out for their concept, scope or variety. If you’re not sure where to start, these are some of the titles worth keeping an eye on.
Gears of War: E-Day
One of Xbox’s major releases for 2026. Gears of War: E-Day takes place 14 years before the first Gears of War and depicts the events of Emergence Day, when the Locust first emerge from beneath the Earth.
The campaign brings back Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as protagonists and focuses on an origin story set during the early stages of the conflict. The game also includes cooperative options and different multiplayer experiences.
Its arrival on Game Pass on launch day makes October an especially notable month for fans of the franchise and for anyone looking to discover the series for the first time.
Neon Abyss 2
Neon Abyss 2 takes the action roguelite formula to a new level with fast-paced combat, procedurally generated environments and a huge number of combinations involving items, abilities and characters.
One of its biggest changes compared with the first game is the addition of online co-op for up to four players, allowing you to explore dungeons and face different enemies together.
Its arrival also coincides with the launch of version 1.0, bringing the PC version out of Early Access. It’s an especially interesting option for players who enjoy fast-paced sessions, frenetic action and experiences that change with every attempt.
Valor Mortis
Valor Mortis combines action and soulslike elements from a first-person perspective, bringing the formula to a dark and supernatural version of Napoleonic Europe.
The protagonist is William, a soldier in the Grande Armée who dies on the battlefield and returns to a continent affected by a mysterious plague. From there, he must face creatures and uncover what is happening while using supernatural powers.
Combat, exploration and progression come together in a game that may appeal particularly to players looking for a different take on the action RPG genre.
Beyond These Stars
Beyond These Stars completely changes pace and focuses on strategy and city building. Its unique premise is that you must build a civilisation on the back of Kewa, a giant space whale travelling through the universe.
Throughout the game, you’ll need to manage the needs of your population, gather resources, develop your settlement and explore the galaxy while establishing relationships with other species.
It is also the October title that, according to the information confirmed so far, is exclusively intended for PC Game Pass. It’s a different option for players who prefer strategy, management and construction over direct action.
The Séance of Blake Manor
The Séance of Blake Manor brings mystery and suspense to October’s catalogue. It’s an investigative adventure in which you’ll have to solve the disappearance of a young woman at Blake Manor while investigating a séance.
The story combines investigation, exploration, puzzles and supernatural elements. As a detective, you’ll need to analyse the clues and uncover what happened while interacting with the different characters staying at the manor.
Its arrival on Xbox Game Pass is scheduled for October 27, just before Halloween, making it a natural choice for anyone looking for a mystery experience to play around that time.
